We are surrounded by many objects ranging from our own finds to gifts handed down through generations. Unfortunately, we often overlook the memories and experiences tied to these items. Some people are unaware of the hidden stories, while others slowly forget the narratives behind these objects. We designed “Treasurefinder,” a technology probe, to explore how AI can help us preserve and support remembering the moments linked to our cherished everyday possessions.
Treasurefinder highlights two primary functions after scanning the objects at home:
- Narrative Playback: Clicking this button enables users to immerse themselves in the authentic voice-recorded stories linked to each object. Through this feature, individuals can rekindle their connections with the past.
- AI-generated questions: The second button harnesses the power of AI to formulate thought-provoking questions linked to the original narratives. This function prompts users to delve deeper into their memories and reflections surrounding their cherished possessions.
