Ambify: Connect, Learn and Share
Ambify is an app that facilitates connections between startups operating within hubs. Entrepreneurs, professionals, and other stakeholders can use the app to discover and learn about each other's businesses, share knowledge, and avoid early-stage mistakes. Ambify uses AI to analyze profiles and identify shared interests and commonalities, aiming to create a lower barrier for people to connect, build stronger networks, and achieve greater success.

Overview
Problem
An increasing number of innovative start-up are emerging, offering networking opportunities, workshops, activities, and a variety of other services to help businesses grow and succeed. However, majority of startups do not take advantage of being in a hub; they are stuck in their own bubble. Yet, building a larger (social) network and connecting with them is one of the keys to success (University Lab Partners, 2019).
Goal
Designing a Communication App for Startup Hubs. Aiming to enhance the communication among startups within hubs.
Research
Persona's
During user research, interviews were conducted with individuals from Atlas, Twice Catalyst, and Twice Alpha building, which are innovation hubs from The Gate Brainport Eindhoven. These interviews helped in crafting detailed user personas representing the diverse startups and stakeholders within these hubs. These personas will guide the design process and ensure that the app meets the specific needs of its users.
Prototype
Wireframe
Early on in the app development process, low-fidelity sketches and prototypes were created to focus on app function and user flow. These wireframes were then shared with stakeholders for feedback and further iteration, gradually evolving in fidelity. This approach helped identify potential issues early on, resulting in a more intuitive user experience.
Results
Style Guide
The app’s logo features a purple gradient, chosen to symbolize artificial intelligence, while the layered blur design aims to unite startups visually. A style guide has been developed to ensure stakeholder interests are considered and provide developers with implementation guidelines.
Final Design
Upon opening the app, users are presented with an onboarding screen where they can learn about the services provided. Following this, they will be directed to either a registration or login screen.
On the main screen, users are able to view a range of services, such as events hosted by the hubs that aim to assist them in learning and growing their businesses. Business owners, employers, and other stakeholders can keep themselves informed about the hub’s activities by reading short posts left by other users. The main screen is intended to provide an overview of what is happening within the hub.
The event screen displays upcoming events, providing details such as program activity, location, and host information. Moreover, the AI recommends events to users based on their interests. The primary function of the app is to connect users within hubs based on their profile inputs and preferences. When users are near each other, the AI will search and find a match. After finding a match, it will generate questions or statements based on the profiles and interests of the users, making it easier for them to connect.
Users have the option to view their match history and details such as where the match was made by AI. Additionally, users can also view commonalities they share with their matched member. After a match, users have the option to continue their conversation on the app or continue the conversation in the hub.
The Ambify app has a dark mode option that can be helpful for users who need to use the app in low-light environments. This feature inverts the app’s color scheme, creating a modern and sleek appearance that is easier on the eyes. The user can switch between light and dark modes at any time by accessing the settings menu, which allows for a personalized experience.
